Over 500 cities participated in the annual City Nature Challenge, and Frazer Center was one of over forty local organizations to partner with our friends at Fernbank Museum who led the Atlanta efforts in this friendly international competition.
In the spirit of friendly competition, some of Frazer’s children and adult participants donned their Citizen Scientist caps to see which classes and groups could identify and photograph the most species. The winners would get their choice of a pizza or ice cream party. High stakes!
Direct Support Professional Leslie Walker led her group of adult participants to victory, and three children’s classrooms each won a party—Expedition and Jungle, with Pollywog coming in as the grand prize winner with 30 identified species including plants, insects, fungi, and animals.
We’re still awaiting the official city-wide results, but our Frazer community did its best to help put Atlanta on the geo-map!
Big thanks to Fernbank Museum for leading the way. Let's do it again in 2024!
