Frequently Asked Volunteer Questions

Can I volunteer in your programs?

Our volunteer opportunities are for individuals or corporate, church, and other community groups to help the Frazer Center by maintaining Frazer Forest and sometimes the gardens. We are not able to accommodate volunteers in direct service to our participants.

I want to volunteer, but I never know my schedule in advance. Can I just show up?

We cannot accommodate walk-up volunteers.

What is the age limit?

All volunteers must be over 16 years old. Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a Consent Form.

Volunteers that are 14-15 years old can volunteer if a supervisor (parent or school official over 21 years old) is present with them.

Can I make my own schedule?

Our projects for corporate, church, and community groups are designed for specific time periods, so volunteers must commit to specific shifts and work their entirety. Shifts are generally 9 am–12 pm or 2 pm–5 pm. The volunteer coordinator will work with each group contact person to coordinate the schedule. Workdays for individual volunteers generally happen on the second Saturday of every month from 9 am–12 pm.

Do we accommodate the specials needs of a handicapped or disabled person as a volunteer?

As an inclusive community, we are proud to accommodate individuals of all abilities in all facets of the organization, but we evaluate our ability to accommodate on a situation-by-situation basis. Please email communications@frazercenter.org to discuss your specific needs.

Can I complete court-related community service hours?

Unfortunately Frazer Center cannot accommodate court-related community service.
